Lausanne extends Bern's losing streak

Friday evening in the National League was characterized by twists and turns. The most spectacular of these came from Lausanne, who beat Bern in overtime for the second time in 48 hours. At half-time, the SCB were well on their way to winning again after five previous defeats. The visitors pulled away from 1:1 to 4:1 within 133 seconds, also thanks to powerplay goals from Romain Loeffel and top scorer Austin Czarnik. However, Lausanne equalized the game with three goals in just under four minutes before the second break. Jason Fuchs ultimately decided the game when he converted a rebound from Adam Reideborn to make it 5-4 for the hosts in overtime.

ZSC Lions defeat favorite opponent

EHC Biel were unable to end the day on which Damien Brunner had to announce his retirement with a sense of achievement. The Seelanders were 2:1 ahead after two periods in their duel with the ZSC Lions in Zurich after goals from Luca Cunti and Lias Andersson, but Willy Riedi and Denis Malgin turned the tide in favour of the home team with their goals in the final period. It was the eleventh win in a row for the Zurich team in their duel with Biel. During the game, ZSC announced that it had extended the contracts of Chris Baltisberger and Derek Grant until the end of next season.

Gottéron squanders 3:0

Fribourg-Gottéron also failed to score in the ninth championship game under Lars Leuenberger. However, the Fribourg team have a lot to talk about after losing 4:5 at home after overtime against the SCL Tigers, who were still leading 3:0 after just under 26 minutes. During Langnau's comeback with two goals each in the middle and final thirds, Julian Schmutz was celebrated as a double goal scorer. The forward also did the groundwork for Aleksi Saarela's winning goal in the 3rd minute of overtime. The Tigers, who won for the second time in a row after six previous defeats, thus also came away victorious in their fourth season duel with Gottéron.

Kubalik ends Zug's winning streak

EV Zug was on the verge of extending its longest winning streak of the season to seven games in its home game against Ambri-Piotta despite trailing 1-0. The team from central Switzerland led 3:2 until just under four minutes before the end of regulation time, before Dominik Kubalik saved the Leventines with the equalizer in overtime. There, the Czech scored his 23rd goal of the season after just 19 seconds to give the visitors victory. Ambri-Piotta had to go to overtime for the 20th time in its 41st game of the season, equaling HC Davos' record from the 2022-23 season.

Aberg's successful debut for Kloten

EHC Kloten came off the ice as deserved winners in the first game after the termination of top scorer Miro Aaltonen's contract. Pontus Aberg celebrated a successful debut in the 5-1 win at home against bottom-of-the-table Ajoie. The forward, who signed from the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, assisted on Kloten's first two goals. At 1:0, Harrison Schreiber deflected Aberg's shot into the goal, and at 2:0, Mischa Ramel converted a perfect feed from the Swede. While Ajoie lost for the fifth time in a row, Kloten underlined its ambitions for a direct playoff spot with its fourth home win in a row.
