With Eileen Gu, the top female athlete on the scene came out on top at the Ski Freestyle World Cup opener in the halfpipe in Cardrona, New Zealand.

Canada's world champion Brendan MacKay was also one of the best on the men's podium.

Switzerland's best ski freestylers did not make the trip to New Zealand. Zoë van Essen from Davos finished in 19th place, while Robin Briguet (18th) and Rafael Kreienbühl (26th) also missed out on a place in the final.
