Premieres, anniversaries and hard work. These are the facts from Friday's five National League games.

Riat's successful anniversary

Damien Riat is a veteran for Lausanne. The Geneva native played his 200th game for the LHC on Friday evening in Lugano. And this anniversary could hardly have got off to a better start for the forward. Less than a minute and a half had been played when Riat gave Geoff Ward's team their first cheer with his eleventh goal of the season. The Vaud team never ran the risk of stumbling on the way to their eighth win in a row against the crisis-ridden Ticino side. As in Tuesday's defeat in Biel, Luca Fazzini's goal was worthless.

Broad-based Bernese

The uneasy feeling in the Postfinance Arena quickly evaporated. Because the SC Bern players were able to react quickly against Ajoie to the deficit that Jonathan Hazen had caused them. Austin Czarnik equalized thanks to his twelfth goal of the season; in the end, five different players had scored for Finnish coach Jussi Tapola's team, giving SCB their sixth win in the last seven games.

Bayer's premiere, Langnau's scoring problems

Local radio station Neo1, which covers every SCL Tigers game live, was predicting a good hour before kick-off who the Langnau team would start with in goal. With the clear number 1 Stéphane Charlin, or with the substitute Luca Boltshauser, who could give the Genevan a breather. With Charlin, the Tigers might even have a chance of victory, was the bold conclusion, which in the end was not far from reality. Because Charlin, the league's outstanding goalie with a 95 percent save percentage, played again and was only beaten once by Jesper Fröden. As against Ajoie on Tuesday, however, he had to watch his teammates fail to score. And the ZSC Lions were thus able to record their first win after three defeats under Marco Bayer, who has been promoted to head coach following the resignation of Marc Crawford.

The Leventine overtime kings lose

No team in the National League has had to play more overtime this season than Ambri-Piotta. Against Ajoie and Fribourg-Gottéron, the Ticino side recently secured the extra point. However, luck was not on the Biancoblù's side in the third overtime in a row, the 18th in 36 games. After André Heim had equalized against Genève-Servette in the 50th minute, Marco Miranda let the Grenat celebrate in the Gottardo Arena after all.

Capaul's game-winner

The Rapperswil-Jona Lakers are looking more stable and successful under new coach Johan Lundskog. The St. Gallen team proved this once again against Kloten, one of this season's surprise teams. When Grégoire Thomas equalized for Kloten at the start of the third period, it took just over two minutes for Luca Capaul to put the Lakers back in front. It was to be the game-winner. Jeremy Wick and Tyler Moy scored into the orphaned Kloten net.
