The Swiss cycling team Q36.5 has scored a transfer coup with the signing of Tom Pidcock. The Olympic mountain bike champion has signed a three-year contract, as the young team announced.
Founded in 2023 and licensed in Switzerland, Team Q36.5 is underlining its ambitions to move up to the World Tour in the medium term with the arrival of the top star. Just this week, Tom Pidcock and the British top team Ineos Grenadiers announced the termination of his contract, which originally ran until the end of 2027.
Pidcock is considered a multi-talent. The 25-year-old Briton has already proven his class on various terrains. On the road, he has won the Gold Race, the Strade Bianche and a stage of the Tour de France, among others. On the mountain bike, he was Olympic champion in 2021 and 2024 and won the World Championship title in 2023. He also became world champion as a cyclo-cross specialist in 2022.
"This isn't just a jersey change, it's the start of something special," Pidcock is quoted as saying in a statement from Team Q 36.5. "I know the challenge we face to get to where we want to be, but it's an adventure and I'm looking forward to it."
