The Swiss delegation to the Summer Olympics in Paris comprises 128 athletes. This was confirmed after the final selections on Monday.

The head of the delegation, Ralph Stöckli, was somewhat more cautious than in the past with regard to medal targets. "Medals and diplomas are still the big goal for many of our athletes, federations and Swiss Olympic," he said. "But we want to be realistic: Switzerland has won an average of five medals in the last Summer Games since 1972 and has never achieved a double-digit figure. We therefore need to put the 13 medals from Tokyo into perspective. I think we can take our cue from the 2016 Summer Games. Those Games were also very successful."

Back then in Rio de Janeiro, Swiss athletes won seven medals and 18 diplomas.
