The 2012 Olympic champion in the saddle on Is-Minka was beaten by British winner Robert Whitaker and French rider Kevin Staut.

In the jump-off, for which twelve riders qualified, Guerdat remained penalty-free in 37.56 seconds. Whitaker completed the course in 36.84 seconds, Staut in 37.11 seconds.
