Swiss professional cyclist Stefan Bissegger has found a new employer. Like his namesake Stefan Küng, the 26-year-old from Thurgau will be riding for a French team from next season.

It had been known for some time that Bissegger would be leaving EF Education-EasyPost at the end of the season after four years. The 2022 European time trial champion has now announced his new team on Instagram. He has signed a contract with the French team Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale that runs until the end of 2026.

Bissegger is also hoping that the change of team will give him a boost in his main discipline, the time trial, where he has not quite been able to build on his strong performances of his first two professional years. "The team has put a lot of work into the time trial and the results are there. I'm looking forward to working with them," the Olympic sixth-placed rider from Paris was quoted as saying in a team statement.
