Fabian Staudenmann lives up to his role as favorite at the Rigi-Schwinget, the 3rd Bergkranzfest of the season.

After the 24-year-old from Bern had reached the final round thanks to five victories and one defeat against Curdin Orlik, he also defeated his association colleague Adrian Walther. The fight lasted less than a minute before Staudenmann's third wreath victory of the year was secured after an inner hook. As a result of this defeat, Walther dropped back to 3rd place behind Michael Ledermann, also from Bern.

The Bernese dominance was hardly surprising, as the host team from Central Switzerland had to do without numerous top wrestlers. In addition to wrestling king Joel Wicki and Pirmin Reichmuth, who both took a planned break, Marcel Bieri was also missing on the Rigi due to a leg injury.

Werner Schlegel was also the favorite to win at the Southwestern Switzerland sub-association festival in Riaz in the canton of Fribourg. The guest from north-eastern Switzerland prevailed against Benjamin Gapany in the final round, having already won the first five fights. Schlegel celebrated his fourth wreath victory of the current season.
