Alexis Pinturault will miss the Alpine World Ski Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm in February and will probably not return to the World Cup this season.
The 33-year-old Frenchman suffered a fracture of the inner tibial plateau in his right knee during his crash in the super-G in Kitzbühel. This was the result of examinations in Lyon.
According to the French Ski Association, the 2020/21 overall World Cup winner will have to take around six weeks off before he can start his rehabilitation. The season ends with the World Cup final in the last week of March.
