Slalom specialist Nicole Good will not be racing again this winter. After consulting with doctors and trainers, the St. Gallen native has decided to end her season prematurely.
According to a statement from Swiss-Ski, the reason for the decision is foot complaints that are causing the 27-year-old Good problems and preventing her from performing to her full potential. The problems are the result of a serious fall in the Super-G at the Swiss Championships in Davos last April.
Good has only competed in the first three World Cup slaloms this winter. In Levi in Finland and in Killington, Vermont, she was eliminated in the first run, and in Gurgl in Ötztal she failed to qualify for the second run.
Good has finished in the top ten in the World Cup once so far. At the end of December the year before last, she finished in 9th place in Lienz in East Tyrol.
