As feared, Gino Caviezel suffered a serious injury in his fall in the Bormio Super-G.
As Swiss-Ski announced, the man from Graubünden suffered a complex injury to his right knee, which could not yet be defined in more detail on Sunday. The 32-year-old also dislocated his right shoulder.
Caviezel was flown directly to Switzerland by Rega after the fall. There, the damaged knee will undergo further examinations.
For the younger brother of Mauro Caviezel, who was forced to retire almost two years ago due to the consequences of serious falls, it is the first significant injury since a broken collarbone and a concussion seven years ago.
