Simon Ammann is withdrawing from the Four Hills Tournament. The 43-year-old from Toggenburg has thus drawn the consequences of missing out on qualification for the opening competition in Oberstdorf, as announced by Swiss-Ski.

Ammann will take a training block instead of the competitions and concentrate on the rest of the season. On Saturday, he only finished 51st in Oberstdorf, where he made his World Cup debut 27 years ago.
