Genève-Servette Hockey Club, Swiss champions in 2023, win the last-chance game against Lausanne 1-0. Vincent Praplan scores the only goal after six minutes.
After six defeats in a row plus the elimination from the Champions Hockey League, which Servette won a year ago, Yorick Treille's team returned to winning ways. Leaders Lausanne were defeated. With 30:18 shots on goal, Geneva earned the victory. Robert Mayer recorded a shutout for Servette. Praplan scored for the 13th time this season.
Servette should have led by more than 1-0 after 40 minutes. Lausanne came back into the game in the final period. Jason Fuchs just hit the post for the Vaud team in the final period.
While Lausanne can continue to flirt with winning the regular season for the first time (6 points ahead of the ZSC Lions, who still have 3 games in hand), things look bleak for Servette despite their success in the Léman derby. The gap to the last play-in place is still seven points with eight rounds to go.
