The SCL Tigers consolidate 8th place in the National League. The Langnau team beat a direct rival, Lugano, 3-1 away from home, but the joy is still clouded.

Because a scene in the 17th minute gave the Langnau team food for thought. Stéphane Charlin, the Emmental's over-goalie, collided with the Canadian Michael Joly. Charlin was unable to continue. Luca Boltshauser had to finish the game.

Boltshauser also played brilliantly. Stéphane Charlin saved 11 shots on his goal. Luca Boltshauser saved 25 of the following 26 shots. Only Jiri Sekac beat him in the 38th minute to tie the score at 1:2.

Claude-Curdin Paschoud scored for Langnau after eleven minutes and Patrick Petrini one minute after the incident with Charlin. It was the second goal of the season for defenseman Paschoud and only the third for forward Petrini. Saku Mäenalanen scored 22.2 seconds before the end into an empty net to make it 3-1. Langnau has won all four games against Lugano this season.

The SCL Tigers moved to within two points of EHC Kloten (7th) in the standings. With Fribourg-Gottéron (6th) six points behind, direct playoff qualification no longer seems realistic. On the other hand, they are already eight points clear of Biel (11th) and 12 points clear of Servette (13th).

Lugano are also six points behind the last play-in place. Uwe Krupp's team recently lost three games in a row again.
