The Rapperswil-Jona Lakers' crisis continues to deepen. The team from St. Gallen lost 3-0 at home to the SCL Tigers for the seventh time in a row.

In these seven defeats, the Lakers have only scored more than two goals once - in a 3:4 penalty shootout loss to Servette. Most recently, they failed to score a single goal in Lugano (0:2) and at home against the Tigers. The Lakers and their coach Stefan Hedlund are facing further troubled days.

The Langnau team realized the preliminary decision early on. Within 147 seconds, Dario Rohrbach and Phil Baltisberger made it 1:0 and 2:0 in the first seven minutes. The Rapperswil team had lost the puck in their own zone before conceding both goals. Harri Pesonen scored the third goal in the 59th minute with a shot into the empty net.

Stéphane Charlin, the SCL Tigers' outstanding goalie, is still in top form. From the last six games in which Charlin has been in front of the net, Langnau have picked up 16 points (out of a possible 18). In Rapperswil, Charlin saved all 34 shots on goal. Charlin leads the goalie rankings both in goals against per game (1.56) and save percentage (95.5 percent).

Langnau improved to 7th place with the away win. The Tigers were already in 7th place a year ago at the beginning of December, but subsequently missed the playoffs (and the play-in) again.
