The engine of the Winnipeg Jets with forward Nino Niederreiter is stuttering. The Canadiens lose for the third time in a row and have to relinquish the lead in the Western Conference.
The evenly-matched game against the Dallas Stars was lost 1:3 away from home on Monday night and was only decided by an empty-netter. The goal for the Jets was scored by Canadian Adam Lowry. Niederreiter, on the other hand, has now been waiting three games for his tenth goal of the season. His fellow forward Nikolaj Ehlers, the son of Visp coach Heinz Ehlers, did not play due to a lower-body injury he suffered on Friday. Winnipeg can now play at home again on Wednesday night after six away games.
Things are not going well for the Chicago Blackhawks with Philipp Kurashev. They remain at the bottom of the Western Conference standings after losing 6-3 to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
