The ice hockey world mourns the loss of Johnny Gaudreau. The Columbus Blue Jacket forward has died in an accident, the NHL team has confirmed.
As reported on X (formerly Twitter), Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew, who is also deceased, were reportedly hit by a car while riding their bikes near their family home in New Jersey.
Gaudreau, who was nicknamed "Johnny Hockey", had started his career in the NHL with the Calgary Flames. He quickly became the star of his team. After an incredible 2021-22 season with 115 points in 82 games, the 31-year-old American signed a seven-year contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
