The Swiss women's 4x100 m relay team will start the upcoming Olympic cycle with a new head coach.
Kim Beytrison from Lausanne, most recently responsible for the U23 sprint relay team, is taking over from Raphaël Monachon and Peter Haas, who are stepping down.
Over the past six years, the 32-year-old Beytrison has worked successfully as head coach of the Swiss U20 and U23 relay teams and as junior national sprint coach, among other things, and has already worked closely with numerous talented young Swiss sprinters.
Beytrison will be supported in his work by Flavio Zberg, who will assist him as a consultant. Zberg has been a successful sprint and relay coach at Swiss Athletics and LC Zurich for more than 15 years and is one of the most experienced and renowned sprint specialists in Switzerland.
The relay projects have long been a central element in the promotion of sprint disciplines in Switzerland. The launch of the Swiss women's sprint relay project in 2011 marked the beginning of the upswing in women's sprinting to become a sprinting nation.
