In addition to the 200m specialist, 19-year-old Tia Clayton (10.90) and 37-year-old Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (10.94) will also be competing in the most prestigious discipline in Paris.

The three sprinters will challenge the US trio of world champion Sha'Carri Richardson, Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry, who all ran under 10.90 seconds last weekend.

Mujinga Kambundji, who impressed on Friday evening in Winterthur with 11.01, will have to improve further if she wants to break through the phalanx from overseas, as she did at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo in sixth place and the 2022 World Championships in Eugene in fifth place.

Thompson surprises

Kishane Thompson surprised everyone in the men's 100m. The 22-year-old sprinter, who is still little known, set a world best time for the year in 9.77 seconds with a tailwind. Thompson will be competing at a major event for the first time in Paris.
