Marc Hirschi wins the second stage of the Czech Tour. The 25-year-old from Bern also takes the lead in the overall classification.
On the 173 km route from Zlin to Pustevny, Hirschi attacked on the final climb to the pass. On the last kilometer, he first caught up with the American Kevin Vermaerke, who had broken away shortly before, and then defended his lead over the chasers. The Italian Diego Ulissi finished second, eleven seconds behind, completing the double victory for Team UAE Emirates.
It was Hirschi's 16th victory in his professional career. He made up 124 places in the overall standings and now leads Ulissi by 15 seconds.
