In his first game as head coach of the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, Johan Lundskog coaches his new team to a 4-2 win against his old club. These are the facts from Wednesday's four games.

Johan Lundskog was fired in Bern in November 2022 - after he had missed the playoffs with the SCB the season before and the team continued to struggle at the time. Lundskog returned to Switzerland for this season: as an assistant with the Lakers. During the second national team break, he was promoted to head coach. Sandro Zangger and Malte Strömwall gave the Lakers a 2-0 lead in the first period. In between, Lukas Klok just hit the post for Bern. Bern's goalie Philipp Wüthrich did not look good when conceding the second goal. Inaki Baragano made it 3-0 for the Lakers at the start of the final period while shorthanded. The Lakers had already scored twice while shorthanded in their last game before the national team break. Elvis Schläpfer, who joined SCB from Biel during the national team break, made his debut as the center of the third forward line.

Langnau thanks to Charlin

Langnau's star goalie Stéphane Charlin led the SCL Tigers to another victory. Charlin saved all 44 shots (!) on his goal in Davos and did not concede a goal in the last 124 minutes on foreign ice. Harri Pesonen with the SCL Tigers' first shot and Patrick Petrini solo (after a bad pass by Calle Andersson) in the first twelve minutes and Dario Rohrbach in the final period scored the goals for the Tigers' 3-0 away win in Davos. Langnau has won four of its last six away games and three times (1-0 in Biel, 3-0 in Rapperswil and 3-0 in Davos) without conceding a goal. Charlin has already celebrated four shutouts this season, two of them (after the 7-0 win in Langnau in September) against Davos. The Tigers won in Davos for the first time since November 22, 2022.

Rochette reports back

Théo Rochette made a furious return for Lausanne Hockey Club. Rochette contributed two goals and an assist in the 5-0 home win over HC Ambri-Piotta for the league's strongest team at home. Rochette had previously had to take a month off due to injury. Nevertheless, he already has eleven goals for the season after the game against Ambri. In addition, Kevin Pasche celebrated his sixth shutout of the season with 21 saves.

Kloten still on the rise

EHC Kloten celebrated their fourth win in the last five games with a 6-3 victory over Lugano and moved up to fourth place ahead of the SCB. Lugano defenceman Santeri Alatalo caused the match-deciding scene when he was sent to the penalty box for five minutes for a board check at 2:3 from Lugano's point of view. During the overtime period, Kloten went from 3:2 to 5:2 through Deniss Smirnov and Miro Aaltonen. Kloten had already led 3:0 after 24 minutes, but squandered this advantage carelessly.
