Luna Rossa will battle Britannia in the final of the challengers to challenge defending champions Team New Zealand for the America's Cup.
One day after the British, the Italians entered the final with a victory in the eighth regatta against the American syndicate American Magic. The day before, the Britannia crew had eliminated the Swiss boat Alinghi with a 5:2 victory.
The final off Barcelona between Luna Rossa and Britannia will also take place from September 26 to October 5 in a best-of-9 series. From October 12, the winner will sail against the New Zealanders for the America's Cup, the oldest sporting trophy in the world.
