Lugano celebrates its fourth win in five games under new coach Uwe Krupp. The Ticino side beat the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers 6:2 on the road.

The early goal after 74 seconds did not shock the visitors, who had already turned the game around six minutes later. Daniel Carr scored the equalizer while short-handed. It was the sixth shorthander in Lugano's kit for the 33-year-old Canadian, who joined the Ticino club for good in 2021 after a loan spell in the previous season. In the end, the top scorer was also to score the final goal - this time in overtime.

Although the home team managed to tie the scores in the second period, Lugano responded again with a double strike to make things clear. It was the next disappointment for St. Gallen, who had narrowly missed out on an away win in Bern the day before (2:3 after extra time).

Meanwhile, Lugano's hopes of a play-in and play-off appearance are back on track. The Ticino side overtook Genève-Servette in the table and now occupy 12th place. They are only three points off the tenth-placed Lakers.
