Zug's goalie Leonardo Genoni is also successful in his second game of the season. Zug wins in Ambri 3:2 after overtime. These are the facts from Wednesday's four games.
On November 22nd, Zug won 2-1 after overtime with Genoni in front of the net in Biel. Two weeks later, Genoni was back on the ice in a championship game - again the EVZ won in overtime. Genoni's strong record: 2 wins, only 3 goals against, 41 saves. Jan Kovar decided the game after just 25 seconds in overtime. In regulation time, Zug had equalized twice through Lino Martschini and Tobias Geisser. Manix Landry and Daniele Grassi scored for Ambri. EV Zug has won 9 of its last 14 games.
Ajoie's home defeat
Ajoie has not lost a home game in Pruntrut since a 3-0 home defeat against Biel on October 26. After five wins, the series against Kloten was broken. Axel Simic, Niko Ojamäki and Sami Niku gave Kloten a 3-0 lead after just 23 minutes and it was not until the last three minutes of the game that Philip-Michael Devos and Julius Nättinen brought Ajoie back to 2-3 without a goalkeeper and with an extra forward. Devos even had a chance to equalize in the final period.
Strong Tigers
The SCL Tigers continue to hold their own - and also win their third duel of the season against Freiburg. After a 4:2 (h) and a 3:2 after penalties (a), this time they won 4:1. Gottéron only dominated the first period, taking a fortunate lead in the 30th minute through Jakob Lilja, but then had to concede four goals. Patrick Petrini, Dario Rohrbach, Brian Zanetti and Juuso Riikola scored the goals for Langnau.
Crisis summit
Lugano won the crisis summit in Ticino against the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers 2:0. Daniel Carr in the final phase of the first period and Aleksi Peltonen at the very beginning of the second period scored the goals. Lugano had won only 3 of their previous 14 games, and only two of their last seven home games. The Lakers suffered their sixth loss in a row and have won only one of their last twelve away games (5-4 after overtime in Langnau). Niklas Schlegel recorded his first shutout of the season with 29 saves.
