Uwe Krupp celebrates a perfect start as coach of Lugano in the National League. Under the German, the Ticino side returned to winning ways with a 6:3 home victory against Davos.
For Lugano, who ended the project with young coach Luca Gianinazzi on Monday after unsatisfactory results, it was the first win after four previous defeats - a welcome and much-needed motivational boost for the team second last in the table.
Unlike Davos, who had previously been unbeaten three times in a row, Zug continued their winning run with a 5:1 victory in the top-of-the-table game in Bern. As a result, the team from central Switzerland moved up three places in the table and are now first in pursuit of leaders Lausanne, who are without a game.
However, the ZSC Lions remain at the top of the table in terms of points lost. The Zurich team beat Ambri-Piotta 3:2 away from home after overtime.
Fribourg-Gottéron are also still in good shape, having narrowed the gap to the top 6 with a tight 2:1 win at bottom-of-the-table Ajoie. Because Kloten lost 2-0 in Geneva against twelfth-placed Servette, the Fribourg team is now only four points away from a direct play-off place.
