Kadetten Schaffhausen responded to their disappointing elimination in the group stage of the European League with their eleventh win in a row in the NLA.
The leaders celebrated a 41:27 victory at home against RTV Basel. Odin Rikhardsson and Mehdi Ben Romdhane each contributed eight goals to the win.
Third-placed Suhr Aarau surprisingly lost 23:26 to St. Otmar St. Gallen, who were always in the lead after leading 2:1. St. Otmar's Joschua Braun was the game's most successful scorer with eight goals. Having won just once in their first eleven games of the season, the team from eastern Switzerland, coached by former national team coach Michael Suter, now recorded their second win in a row.
As a result, Wacker Thun are now bottom of the table, although the Bernese Oberland side fought back from 13:20 down (35:30) to earn a point (30:30) in their home game against fourth-placed BSV Bern. Ante Gadza scored ten times for Wacker, Felix Aellen scored eight times for BSV.
