Julien Sprunger will stay with Fribourg for another season. The 38-year-old forward has extended his contract with Fribourg until 2026.
Sprunger has been an integral part of Gottéron's first team since the 2003/2004 season and is one of 16 outfield players in the 1000-man club in Switzerland's top league. He has led the team as captain since 2014.
"Julien is a real role model in our dressing room, both because of his past experience and his behavior in the present," Fribourg's head of sports Gerd Zenhäusern is quoted as saying in a media release. Sprunger says that he feels fit and can still impart some skills to the team.
