Snowboarder Julie Zogg finishes third on the podium in the parallel slalom in Yanqing, China. She beat her team-mate Flurina Bätschi in the small final.
The 32-year-old from St. Gallen, twice world champion in this discipline, took only three hundredths of a second from her compatriot and claimed her 35th individual podium finish in the World Cup. Julie Zogg had already finished third a week earlier in Mylin in the first parallel slalom of the season.
Flurina Bätschi from Graubünden will also be pleased with her 4th place. The 21-year-old achieved a clear career-best result and will now in all likelihood also be allowed to compete at the home World Championships in the Engadin in March.
The victory went to Tsubaki Miki. The Japanese skier, who beat Julie Zogg by a hundredth of a second in the semi-final, came out on top in the final against the already 51-year-old Claudia Riegler from Austria. Ester Ledecka did not compete in the second World Cup weekend in China.
In the men's race, Dario Caviezel, the best Swiss racer, was eliminated in the round of 16.
