Tanja Hüberli and Nina Brunner continue to impress in their first competition after the Olympic Games. At the Elite16 tournament in Hamburg, the Swiss women reached the quarter-finals with three wins.

After a relaxed opening victory the day before, the bronze medalists from Paris had to fight harder on Friday to achieve success. Hüberli/Brunner lost the first set 17:21 against both the Brazilians Thamela/Victoria and the Italians Valentina Gottardi/Marta Menegatti, but both times they found their way back into the match and won the tie-breaks 15:12 and 16:14 respectively.

As group winners, Hüberli and Brunner are through to the quarter-finals, which will be played on Saturday.

Anouk Vergé-Dépré and Joana Mäder have started the tournament with one win and one defeat. The duo, who are playing their last international competition together in the northern German port city, will face Brazilians Agatha/Rebecca, who also have an even record, at 4.00 pm.
