The World Chess Championship between defending champion Ding Liren and challenger Dommaraju Gukesh remains even after another draw.

The 32-year-old Chinese player and the 18-year-old Indian agreed on the third draw in total after 40 moves in the fifth game in Singapore and were each awarded 0.5 points. Both players have so far recorded one win each and collected 2.5 points each. The sixth game is scheduled for Sunday.

In the meantime, Ding, playing with the black pieces, seemed to have an advantage because Gukesh was very attacking and probably overplayed his hand. However, Ding was unable to convert the counterattack into a win.
