Canadian Greg Ireland, who took over in Ajoie during the national team break, loses 2:5 in his first game in Kloten. These are the facts of the six games on Friday night.

Ajoie had won twice before the championship break. The team from Jura clearly missed out on their third win in a row. In the second period, EHC Kloten scored three goals from 0:1 to 3:1 within eleven minutes.

Zurich lose at home

The ZSC Lions lost the top game in Zurich against HC Davos 2:3 in overtime. Michael Fora scored the winning goal with 0.8 seconds left in overtime. The last time ZSC had lost a home game was on January 20 with a 3-1 defeat against Kloten, after which Zurich SC won 25 games in front of their own fans. Davos won for the tenth time in the last eleven rounds thanks to Fora's late winning goal.

Spectacle in Fribourg

In Fribourg, Gottéron and Schlittschuhclub Bern provided a spectacle from the very first second. The game was already 1:1 after 23 seconds. It has been 32 years since two goals were scored more quickly (Ambri - Zug 2:0 after 22 seconds). Jakob Lilja (who came from Ambri for DiDomenico) scored his first goal for Gottéron to make it 1-1. This was also curious, as the puck was free in front of the goal for Lilja, while Bern's goalie Adam Reideborn was standing behind the net. In the end, Fribourg won 5:4 on penalties. No scorer scored for Bern, while Jacob de la Rose and Christoph Bertschy scored for Gottéron. Bern have lost eight of their nine overtime games this season.

Zug's reaction

Zug managed a strong reaction to Wednesday's embarrassing performance against Bern (1:6). Gregory Hofmann and Fredrik Olofsson each contributed two goals to the 6-2 home win against Lausanne, who had traveled to central Switzerland as leaders. It was Olofsson's first two goals of the season. The hosts decided the middle third 4:1 in their favor with the kind help of Lausanne goalie Antoine Keller, who was substituted after 40 minutes. EVZ had lost all four of their previous duels against the Vaud team.

From 2:3 to 6:3

Due to the traffic jam at the Gotthard, Biel arrived late in Lugano; the game started with a slight delay. The short preparation did not prove to be a handicap for the Seelanders: Biel led 3:2 until the 29th minute after two goals by Toni Rajala. Jesper Peltonen, however, also managed the decisive turnaround from 2:3 to 4:3 with a brace (29th and 36th minute).

After more than 200 minutes

The SCL Tigers suffered their next defeat in a game with a lot of lead changes, losing 4:5 to the Lakers. At least the Langnau team managed to score again: After a 0:4 against Zug, a 0:3 in Davos and a 0:2 in Ajoie, they scored after 201 minutes and 49 seconds through Michal Kristof to make it 1:0. What followed was bitter: Although the Tigers were then able to play power play and score a penalty, they were down 1-2 for the first time four minutes after the 1:0. Pontus Aberg scored the winning goal for the Lakers after 62:20 minutes.
