After seven games without defeat in all competitions, FC Lugano lose 0:2 in Yverdon.

The decisive scenes took place in the first half. And in the middle of it all was the quartet of referee Désirée Grundbacher, assistants Susanne Küng and Linda Schmid and Déborah Anex as the fourth official. For the first time in the history of the Super League, the match was refereed entirely by women.

The decisive decisions, however, came from the VAR room of Lukas Fähndrich. In the 32nd minute, Lugano's Renato Steffen was brought down in the penalty area - more likely a penalty. However, the VAR did not intervene after Désirée Grundbacher allowed play to continue. Shortly before the break, a scene in the FC Lugano penalty area. This time, video assistant referee Fähndrich intervened: a yellow card against Moussa Baradji for a swallow was turned into a foul penalty, which Boris Céspedes confidently converted in the 4th minute of stoppage time.

These scenes spoiled Lugano coach Mattia Croci-Torti's 150th competitive match as coach of Lugano. Croci-Torti received a yellow card for his complaints and was also unable to get his team back on track during the half-time break. In the 58th minute, Lugano defender Ayman El Wafi deflected the ball into his own net to make it 2-0. After six defeats against Lugano, Yverdon celebrated their first win against the Ticino side in 15 years with a total score of 2:20.
