FC Bayern Munich confirmed their good form in the Bundesliga, beating Union Berlin 3-0 to open up a temporary three-point gap at the top of the table.

FC Bayern Munich rounded off a perfect domestic week with a home win over Union Berlin ahead of their important Champions League clash against Benfica Lisbon. The league leaders followed up their 5-0 win in Bochum and 4-0 victory in the DFB Cup in Mainz with another comfortable 3-0 (2-0) win on Saturday.

It was another Harry Kane day at the Allianz Arena. The Englishman scored his tenth and eleventh goals of the season in the Bundesliga. First, the goalscorer converted from the penalty spot (15th minute). Then he pushed a header from Kingsley Coman into the net (51'). The playful Coman had previously scored the 2:0 (43').

It was the next frustrating experience for the Ironmen from Berlin after their disgraceful cup exit at third-division side Arminia Bielefeld (0:2). Goalkeeper Frederik Rönnow prevented a higher defeat in the end with a save from a Coman shot (87'). "Only FCB will be German champions," shouted the Bayern fans in the final minutes.

Frankfurt goal festival

Frankfurt continued their good start to the season in impressive fashion, outclassing bottom club Bochum 7:2 in their own stadium. After just over half an hour, the score was already 4:0. The last three goals for the young team of coach Dino Toppmöller came between the 61st and 69th minutes, before Swiss defender Aurèle Amenda came on for the final minutes.

Hugo Ekitiké scored twice, Omar Marmoush was involved in three goals and has already scored 16 times this season.

Kiel with their first win

Holstein Kiel celebrated a historic success with their first win in the 1st Bundesliga. The North Germans, who were promoted to the league 61 years ago for the first time in the summer, beat Heidenheim at home thanks to a goal from Patrick Erras from a set-piece. This makes Bochum the last team still without a win.

For Bochum, the dismissal of coach Peter Zeidler has brought no improvement. In the two championship games since then, the third-last team from last season has conceded twelve goals. No Bundesliga team has ever been worse off than Bochum (1 point and 9:29 goals) after nine rounds.
