5:1 thrashing Stuttgart shoot Kobel full and give Dortmund a lesson

What a performance from VfB Stuttgart! Sebastian Hoeness' team outclassed Dortmund in front of their own fans and sent Gregor Kobel and Co. home with a 5:1 thrashing.

Borussia Dortmund suffered their first defeat in their sixth competitive match under new head coach Nuri Sahin. BVB lost 5:1 (0:2) at VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga and are already five points behind league leaders FC Bayern Munich.

Attackers Deniz Undav (4th minute) and Ermedin Demirovic (21st) scored in front of 60,000 spectators for the runners-up, who overran Dortmund at one stage. After the break, Enzo Millot (62') and El Bilal Touré (80') and Undav again (90') added to their tally. Former VfB goalscorer Serhou Guirassy could only reduce the deficit for the visitors (75'). Like BVB, VfB now have seven points, but have overtaken the Black & Yellows in the table thanks to their better goal difference.
