Champions League Lotomba's Feyenoord spring a surprise in Girona ++ Atalanta win in commanding fashion

Jordan Lotomba has secured Feyenoord Rotterdam's first win in the second round of the Champions League. The Swiss full-back won 3:2 at Spanish upstarts Girona.

Under the confident direction of Urs Schnyder, who was shown nine yellow cards and twice pointed to the penalty spot in his first Champions League game, Girona scored twice in their own goal - the second time through Ladislav Krejci to make it 2-3 in the 79th minute. The two justified foul penalties, one for each team, were saved by the goalkeepers.

It was the second defeat for Champions League debutants Girona following their 1-0 loss at Paris Saint-Germain. In the second early game of the day, Europa League winners Atalanta Bergamo won 3-0 against Shakhtar Donetsk in Gelsenkirchen.
