Liverpool FC win their clash against Chelsea FC 2-1 and defend their lead at the top of the Premier League thanks to the home win.

Liverpool remain top of the Premier League with 21 points after their laborious victory in the prestigious clash with Chelsea. The match-winner was Mohamed Sala, who scored the 1:0 from the penalty spot and set up the 2:1 through Curtis Jones in the 51st minute.

Manchester City are one point behind. However, the champions of the last four years only won in Wolverhampton in the fifth minute of stoppage time. Defender John Stones scored to make it 2-1, while Swiss international Manuel Akanji was spared for once.
