A goal from a returnee is enough for VfB Stuttgart to win on the road against FC Augsburg. The German international scored just a few minutes after coming on as a substitute.
Thanks to a goal from returnee Deniz Undav, VfB Stuttgart collected important points in the race for the international places at the end of the 16th matchday in the Bundesliga. Coach Sebastian Hoeness' team won 1:0 at FC Augsburg, who have been strong at home recently. German international Undav scored just four minutes after coming on as a substitute in the 65th minute after a lengthy injury lay-off.
With the win in front of 30,660 spectators, Stuttgart moved up to seventh place in the table with 26 points. For Augsburg, however, it was their third defeat in a row. The team under coach Jess Thorup is 13th with 16 points.
