Basel festival The FCB finishes off Winterthur

FC Basel wins 5:0 against Winterthur. FCB is superior to the visitors in every respect and deservedly wins its seventh match of the season.

FC Winterthur still had the scare in their bones. Last weekend, it had been demolished 6:1 by FC Basel in its own stadium. The error-prone bottom team fared no better at St. Jakob-Park seven days later. With their attacking players in good form, FCB were more than a class above.

Anton Kade launched Basel's pressure phase with the 1:0 in the 15th minute, which led to two more goals before the break. Bénie Traoré, who also made it 4:0 in the 55th minute, and Kevin Carlos quickly made it clear. Albian Ajeti scored the final goal in the 82nd minute. Xherdan Shaqiri was involved in three of the goals with his crosses.

While Basel got back on track after their defeat against YB on Wednesday, FC Winterthur have something to worry about. The surprise team of last season not only has the fewest points, but also the statistically worst attack and the most porous defense.
