Ecuador is mourning the loss of a promising football talent who succumbed to his injuries after a serious car accident.
The Ecuadorian footballer Marco Angulo, who had already played two international matches for his home country at the age of 22, has died 35 days after a serious car accident in Quito. The injuries he suffered in the accident were ultimately too serious.
"His departure is an irretrievable loss that will leave an indelible mark on our hearts," said his club LDU Quito in an emotional message on Facebook.
The accident occurred when the vehicle in which Angulo was traveling collided with a solid metal structure. A total of three people lost their lives in this tragic incident, including another football player.
