Record champions FC Bayern show no weakness on the 10th Bundesliga matchday. Bayer Leverkusen, on the other hand, disappoint again. And Borussia Dortmund lose again away from home.

Bundesliga leaders FC Bayern remain on course for the title. The record champions from Munich won 1:0 (1:0) at newly promoted FC St. Pauli on the tenth matchday and extended their lead over their closest rivals RB Leipzig to six points, at least temporarily. The Saxons will host Borussia Mönchengladbach this evening (18:30).

Defending champions Bayer Leverkusen suffered their next setback four days after their Champions League defeat at Liverpool FC (0:4) during the week. Coach Xabi Alonso's team had to settle for a 1:1 (1:0) draw at bottom club VfL Bochum. VfL, on the other hand, should be satisfied with the point gained on the debut of new coach Dieter Hecking.

Borussia Dortmund's away woes continued with a 1:3 (1:2) defeat at FSV Mainz 05. BVB had to play more than an hour short-handed after captain Emre Can was shown a red card. Werder Bremen defeated newcomers Holstein Kiel 2:1 (1:0) late on.
