Jenjira Stadelmann wins a real thriller in the Olympic badminton tournament. The player from Eastern Switzerland wins her second group match in extremis, but is eliminated.

Jenjira Stadelmann prevailed against Ireland's Rachael Darragh 13:21, 24:22, 21:15. What looked clear-cut in the third set was not for a long time: Stadelmann was always behind - up to 14:15 - but then she won the last seven points of the match and was still able to celebrate.

But the trembling lasted a long time. In the second set, Stadelmann was actually always in the lead, but then had to fend off a match point at 21:22 before winning the deciding set 24:22.

It is the first victory for Swiss Badminton at Olympic level for 16 years. Jeanine Cicognini had won her opening match in Beijing in 2008. However, Jenny Stadelmann can no longer reach the round of 16.
