Motorcycle racer Noah Dettwiler's first trip to Japan ends with an injury. The 19-year-old from Basel sustained a fracture to his coccyx in the Grand Prix in Motegi.
The mishap happened shortly after the start of the Moto3 class race. Dettwiler fell on the third corner. After an initial examination at the medical center at the track, he was flown to a nearby hospital, where he was diagnosed with a fracture to his coccyx as a result of the violent impact.
Dettwiler will return to Switzerland as soon as possible. Further examinations are planned in his home country in order to get an even more precise picture of the injury. A rehabilitation plan should then ensure that Dettwiler is fit for action again as soon as possible.
