The Kansas City Chiefs are one win away from another Super Bowl appearance. The title holders beat the Houston Texans 23-14 in the quarter-finals of the NFL playoffs.

The Kansas City Chiefs benefited from a strong performance by Travis Kelce in their first play-off game of the season. The partner of pop icon Taylor Swift scored a touchdown and gained at least 100 yards in a playoff game for the ninth time in his career. No other professional footballer in the history of the NFL has achieved this.

The Chiefs therefore still have the chance to become the first NFL team to win the most important title in American football for the third time in a row. Their next opponent will be the winner of the quarter-final duel between the Baltimore Ravens and the Buffalo Bills.

In the other semi-final, the Los Angeles Rams or the Philadelphia Eagles will face the Washington Commanders, who caused a major surprise. With a spectacular 45:31 victory, the Commanders ended the Super Bowl dreams of the Detroit Lions, the top seed in the National Conference.
