Chiara Tamburlini wins the annual Ladies European Tour ranking. The St. Gallen native earned more than anyone else on the European Tour (Order of Merit).

Tamburlini is the first Swiss woman to win the annual ranking of a major golf tour. The 24-year-old can look back on an outstanding year: she started the tour as a rookie and finished the season as number 1. Although the season continues until the end of November and ends in Andalusia, Chiara Tamburlini can no longer be caught by her rivals.

Three tournament wins

Chiara Tamburlini won three tournaments in South Africa in April, in France in September and in Taiwan in October. Within nine months, she has improved from 447th to 69th place in the world rankings.

As winner of the Ladies European Tour, Tamburlini is guaranteed to play in all Tour tournaments for the next six years. However, Tamburlini's next goal is to try and gain a foothold on the US LPGA Tour like Albane Valenzuela and Morgane Métraux.

Girrbach moves up

Joel Girrbach also provided some positive news. The 31-year-old from Thurgau successfully defended his tour card on the DP World Tour, the former European PGA Tour. Girrbach was even promoted and has a full card for 2025. Joel Girrbach collected the majority of his points in the first half of the year - with five results in the top 20 (twice top 10) by the summer. In the final weeks of the season, Girrbach had to worry about his tour card: "The last few weeks have been extremely difficult and I'm exhausted," says Girrbach. "Now I'm over the moon that I'm keeping my card. The 2025 season starts at the end of November in Australia. But I haven't decided on my program yet. I need a few weeks' rest first."
