EHC Basel leads the Swiss League standings for the first time since November 10. The Basel team overtakes HC La Chaux-de-Fonds.
Within the space of three days, EHC Basel have made up six points on La Chaux-de-Fonds. The Baslers defeated Thurgau 4-0, with Canadian Jakob Stukel contributing two goals. HC La Chaux-de-Fonds, on the other hand, lost 2:3 in Visp in front of almost 2500 spectators. The Chaux-de-Fonniers had already lost 2:3 in Thurgau on Tuesday.
The new leaders' defense is particularly impressive: The last time Basel conceded goals was in the 5-2 home win over Sierre. Since then, goalies Fabio Haller (32/2x) and Andri Henauer (22/1x) have not conceded a goal against Bellinzona (1:0/a), Winterthur (4:0/a) and Thurgau. Basel's defense has not been beaten for 194 minutes and 21 seconds.
