One week after her first individual podium finish in the Biathlon World Cup, Amy Baserga also proves her good form in Antholz. The athlete from Schwyz finishes 8th in the 7.5 km sprint.
Baserga owes her second top 10 finish of the season to an impeccable performance at the shooting range and a strong final lap. The three-time junior world champion lost just under 50 seconds to Lou Jeanmonnot from France, who has now won five times this season.
Aita Gasparin was the second Swiss athlete to impress two and a half weeks before the home World Championships in Lenzerheide. The Engadine native also did not have to ski a penalty loop and finished 13th, putting herself in a good position for Saturday's pursuit race.
Lena Häcki-Gross did not get up to speed at all on the 2026 Olympic course, only clearing 7 out of 10 targets and having to settle for 59th place. Elisa Gasparin (48th) and Lea Meier (71st) also missed out on World Cup points in the top 40 in South Tyrol.
