Alinghi Red Bull is the loser in the second duel in the pre-regatta for the America's Cup. The Swiss were clearly beaten by the yacht American Magic off Barcelona.
After the start-finish against the French Orient Express Racing Team, the Swiss crew led by skipper Arnaud Psarofaghis fell behind from the start against the Americans. In the almost 23 minutes of racing, the gap grew continuously; Alinghi Red Bull's "BoatOne" crossed the finish line 56 seconds behind.
All six teams involved in the America's Cup 2024 will compete in a pre-regatta until Sunday. The Cup of the five challengers begins on Thursday. The winner will sail against defending champions Team New Zealand for the world's oldest sporting trophy from October 12.
