Davos forward Andres Ambühl played his 1270th game in the National League A (or National League) on Thursday against Bern. He is now the sole record holder, ahead of Beat Gerber (1269).
The now 41-year-old Ambühl made his debut in Switzerland's top league on December 19, 2000. His opponents back then were also Bern. The record he set in the game against SCB has now come full circle.
Apart from three years with the ZSC Lions (2010 to 2013), Ambühl always played for the HCD in Switzerland - in 2009/10 he tried his hand in North America. He won five championship titles with the Grisons (2002, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2015), plus the one with the ZSC in 2012.
