The Winnipeg Jets win their second game in eight days against the Nashville Predators. Nino Niederreiter and Roman Josi scored again after a long time in the 5-2 win.

The two Swiss players struck in the final period. First Josi, who had previously provided the assist for the first goal, scored with a slapshot to make it 2:4 from the visitors' perspective. Niederreiter later made sure of the final score with an "empty netter". Both thus ended their personal goal droughts of twelve (Josi) and thirteen games without scoring. Niederreiter now has eleven goals for the season, Josi eight.

It was the first win of the new year for the Jets. After the last meeting between the two teams, which Winnipeg won 3-0, the Canadiens suffered three consecutive defeats. While Niederreiter and the Jets thus remain clearly on course for the play-offs, Josi and the Predators are still among the bottom teams in the North American league.
