On June 18, 2023, the Oceangate diving capsule "Titan" suffered an implosion near the Titanic wreck.
Five people lost their lives, including millionaire Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son.
Now another shock for the family: according to the Daily Mail, he only left his wife around 86,000 francs.
The reason: Dawoon died without a valid British will.
On June 18, 2023, the Oceangate submersible "Titan" suffered an implosion near the wreck of the Titanic. All the occupants were killed. Among them were Shahzada Dawood, heir to a billion-dollar Pakistani business dynasty, and his 19-year-old son.
Shahzada Dawood's inheritance is estimated at around 285 million pounds, or around 319 million Swiss francs. His family earns around 1.3 billion pounds a year from the production of fertilizers, food, energy and chemicals. The family is one of the richest in Pakistan.
Dawoods lived with his wife Christine and their two children Suleman (19) and Alina (19) in a villa in Surrey, UK.
No valid British will
However, as theDaily Mailnow reports, Dawood's wife almost came away empty-handed as an heiress. He apparently only left his wife 76,958 pounds, or around 86,000 francs.
The reason for this: Dawoon died without a valid British will. Documents show that Dawood was resident in Pakistan and that the majority of his assets therefore remain outside the UK.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the widow recalls the situation when she learned that her husband and son had died in the depths of the sea. "The moment we found out they had found debris and there were no survivors, Alina and I went on deck. Until that moment, we still had hope. We took a couple of cushions and just sat there looking out to sea. We both cried."
